Boulevard Tree Permit
The Circle Pines City Council recently adopted an ordinance that requires homeowners to obtain a permit before planting trees or other vegetation on public property. There is no fee for the permit intended to assist homeowners in selection and placement of approved trees and bushes for boulevard areas.

The process involves submittal of an application and drawing of the area for the proposed planting. Homeowners may choose a variety of trees from a list of suggested trees provided by the city. Spacing of trees shall be in accordance with species and size at maturity, and requirements must also be followed for distance from curbs and sidewalks. Plans will be reviewed and the City Forester will answer questions and make suggestions on types and spacing of plantings for boulevard areas.
